SHAYANE LOPES
Dr. Shayane Lopes, PhD, holds a degree in Languages from the Fluminense Federal University (UFF), where she also completed her MBA (Master of Business Administration) in People Management, as well as her Master’s and Doctoral degrees—both in Linguistics. Throughout this journey, she sought out educational opportunities that would bring her even closer to the realities she encounters in the classroom environment. Consequently, she also pursued a specialization in Inclusive Special Education, thereby broadening her perspective on the multiple forms of learning, communication, and expression—particularly in those instances where silence tends to be even more prevalent.
A direct, hands-on experience with the daily realities of school and university life has also strengthened her work in training other professionals. Today, Dr. Shayane has the privilege of serving as a professor in the ESEPAS postgraduate program—Sexual and Emotional Education and Sexual Abuse Prevention—as well as in the ESEPAS Certification program; both initiatives were conceived by Leiliane Rocha, a psychologist and leading expert in the field of abuse prevention.
Along this journey, the project titled Culture of Protection: Preventing Sexual Abuse was born. Since then, her contributions have expanded through the delivery of lectures, workshops, training sessions, and continuing education programs conducted across various Brazilian states—in schools, universities, hospitals, and religious institutions. The central focus of all these initiatives is the establishment of protection networks and the dissemination of responsible, scientifically grounded practices.
LIVREPRESS and SHAYANE
A Journey of Purpose and Competency
The best partnerships often begin in the most unexpected ways. For LIVREPRESS and Shayane, the connection wasn't born from a formal business proposal, but through the shared vision of a mutual friend.
After witnessing the vital work LIVREPRESS and founder Sandra Alex were doing in the fields of abuse recovery and healing, a common friend realized that Shayane’s voice and mission were a perfect match for the publisher's heart.
What started as a simple introduction soon transformed into a powerhouse collaboration. Although there were initially no plans for publication, Shayane’s sheer competency, dedication, and the undeniable importance of her message led to a prolific partnership. Today, we are proud to have published three of her essential works in Brazil:
Sexualidade: Diálogo e Prevenção
Proteja sua Criança, Ouça seu Adolescente
Manual Prático para Palestrar em Escolas
Shayane’s journey with LIVREPRESS is a testament to what happens when expertise meets a shared passion for making a difference. We are honored to be the home for her voice and her mission.
