At LIVREPRESS, we believe that some things must be said — clearly, courageously, and with the full authority of Scripture.
We are a Christian publishing house with offices in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Portland, Oregon. Our English catalog exists because we believe the American Church deserves to hear voices it hasn't fully heard yet — voices shaped by the African diaspora, by the Latin American evangelical tradition, and by communities that have experienced the intersection of faith and injustice in ways the dominant conversation has not yet fully embraced.
Our books fall along two interlocking lines.
The first is serious biblical theology — the kind that takes the text seriously, engages the best scholarship available, and refuses to reduce the Christian faith to slogans or sentiment. We publish authors who believe that what you think about God matters enormously, and that the Church is impoverished when it stops thinking carefully.
The second is spiritual and institutional abuse — its dynamics, its devastation, and the long road to restoration. We publish books that name what too many churches have asked their members to leave unnamed. Books that expose systems of control disguised as pastoral care. Books that restore dignity to those who were told their pain was the problem. Books that help survivors rebuild a faith that is honest, grounded, and free.
These two lines are not unrelated. Bad theology enables abuse. And the path to restoration runs through truth — about God, about power, about what the Church is called to be.
Our current English catalog includes The Stigma of Color: How Racism Violates the Two Great Commandments by Jacira Pontinta Monteiro — a prophetic, Scripturally grounded response to racism in the Church, written from the perspective of the African diaspora and addressed directly to the Body of Christ.
More titles are coming in 2026.
LIVREPRESS books are available in print and eBook format through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, and this store. We are committed to making these voices accessible to every reader who is ready to engage them seriously.
